Bad news for HTC One S owners: will never get an official update to Android 4.2.2 their device. The HTC one S currently still running on Android 4.1.
This confirmed against HTC Android Central. The HTC One S is a smaller and cheaper version of the HTC One X, the flagship of 2012 and forerunner of the HTC One The phone manufacturer reported the following about the choice.:
“We can confirm That the HTC One S will not receive further Top Android OS updates and Will Remain on the current version of Android and HTC Sense. We Realize this news will be with with disappointment by some, but our customers feel confident shouldering That we have designed the HTC One S to be optimized with our amazing camera and audio experiences. “
This choice has the HTC One S had a grand total update during its lifetime, from Android 4.0.3 to Android 4.1. This is somewhat scanty called for a smaller and cheaper version of a 2012 flagship.
HTC promises to be an Android 4.2.2 update for the HTC One X to come. When that is exactly, is just not known. The Android 4.2.2 update for the HTC One has also been spotted in Taiwan.
