After many rumors and leaks, is the confirmation of the HTC Mini One not very shocking and features are already not surprising. Yet, in the limited testing time that I had so far, I was already impressed. The slower processor is worrying and will competition from the Samsung Galaxy Mini S4 have to deal with, but HTC’s latest looks promising.
Design
Much of the appeal of the HTC One is its excellent build quality. The device is milled from a block of aluminum and bends, breaks or cracks if you firmly grasps it. The HTC One Mini has the same strength, which may not be surprising, because it is also made with a unibody.
One Mini deviates from the design of its big brother on the edges. They are not finished with polished metal, but with the cheaper polycarbonate. Advantage is that the less time and effort to make the phone. Something also has an impact on the price.

If you’re a fan of the robust speakers of the HTC One, which HTC Tree Sound calls, then you will be pleased to learn that the Mini One has the same function. HTC confirmed that the Mini One has a similar sound experience with each of the speakers powered by its own amplifier.
One Mini has two drilled audio grids around its screen. The speakers are smaller, but because I could not test, it is not clear whether that has an impact on the sound quality.

Despite its decline against the One, the One Mini features a very similar list. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the freshest version of HTC’s own Sense UI on top. This means that the new collector Blink Feed still the home screen inpalmt, whether you like it or not. Also: weather animations everywhere
Be warned that the engine in this phone a less powerful 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon is 400. The original One has the 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and 600. The One Mini also has only half the RAM, 1GB. And although everything went smoothly during the tests, the slower processor sooner or later have a negative impact on performance.
I am especially impressed with the camera that takes pictures quickly. HTC explained to me that the Mini an identical image processing system uses as its predecessor. Like the HTC One, Mini One used the same HTC Sense Image 4MP with the same ultra-pixel sensor. The One Mini optical image stabilization, missing sin because it has an impact on pictures in low light.
Outlook
I am glad to see that the HTC One Mini comes on the market, because he brings a lot of HTC’s premium features to a smaller enclosure. What is really interesting here is that with the advent of the Mini One we see the clash of the titans that was between the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
