HTC has narrowly escaped a second quarterly loss in a row, by selling shares. in Beats But it is still not well with the Taiwanese smartphone maker.

Three months ago, HTC announced its first quarterly loss ever. Now a very small profit was reported as 7.5 million.

Upon inspection of the figures shows that the small profits on a quarterly revenue of just over one billion euros, is not due to sales of smartphones. The profit is largely due to a one-time gain, the company picked up when the last shares were sold in Beats Audio. This HTC fetched $ 85 million within.

Earnings in itself is good news for HTC, but the trick with the sale of shares can be extracted only once. HTC announces meanwhile outwardly that there is little to worry about. There are no factories closed in order to save money, and the company reports that marketing of the products is the biggest problem, not the products themselves. Recently, the company began a major advertising campaign with actor Robert Downey Jr.. in the lead.
