A new direction for HTC - Computer Total

BACKGROUND – It is not well with HTC. Year on year, revenue declined and the results are disappointing. Brands like Apple and Samsung dominate, while newcomers like Huawei gain more share. HTC has its strategy for 2014 significantly modified, with a focus on emerging markets.

Rambunctious period

the past three years, to say the least, been turbulent for HTC. The partnership with Beats Audio, the end of 2011, has provided a boost. In particular, the launch of the HTC One series, beginning in 2012, has ensured that HTC actually still plays a role in the high-end smartphone market.

In the same month a year later, the new HTC One was launched. With an aluminum body, stereo speakers with ‘Boom Sound’ and an Ultra-pixel camera, this was the new attractive, high HTC. The rapid succession of several high-end models like the HTC Desire or HTC Butterfly, was not always well received. Had they just “the latest” purchased, they walked about three months later, again behind the times.

Release HTC One devices.

A new course

The results

Lack HTC has in 2013 the route mapped out a new direction. HTC is not as great in the high-end smartphone market with competitors like Apple and Samsung. The renewed focus is primarily on emerging markets such as China. HTC plays through cheaper and affordable models, the lower wages of the Chinese.

However

HTC is planning to continue playing with the high-end market. Most likely it will launch in Q2 of this year its new HTC One 2 (or M8). The expectation is that it will continue. Only a handful of high-end devices Which of course variations such as the HTC One mini or HTC One will launch max.

so wait and see if HTC through these plans come into play. again The renewed focus means the outsourcing of production, the use of low-cost MediaTek chips into new affordable handsets and reaching more customers. Challenging it is anyway. These are also expects the new Samsung Galaxy S5 and Apple’s new iPhone this year.
