HTC in 2014: outlook and expectations - GSMinfo.nl

Although in 2013 some fantastic HTC smartphones released, it did not really work out in terms of sales in the Taiwanese. 2014 will be a better year for HTC? GSMinfo.nl already looks forward to the “HTC M8 ‘, Windows Phone plans, and more.

The last week of 2013 has arrived, so it’s time for us to GSMinfo.nl to already look back on 2014 forward. Today we look at HTC, which has had. Challenging year The HTC One was almost unanimously welcomed by the press: a flagship with a beautiful design, fine hardware, and interesting innovations in the field of software. In the field of design One was one of the first Android smartphone which was against the iPhone.

Unfortunately the One was not as successful as HTC probably hoped. The unit had some trouble with production problems and therefore was in many countries only after Samsung’s Galaxy S4 in stores. HTC’s flagship model was therefore a little snowed under, and only a few million were sold. Compared to the more than forty million copies of the Galaxy S4 is still a bit disappointing. Other HTC smartphones hit not really, so the Taiwanese manufacturer recorded a loss for the first time this year. 2014 will be a better year for the Taiwanese or should we start worrying?

HTC’s new flagship

The successor of the HTC is likely unveiled in early 2014. Many details have already been leaked, we know even though a code name. The One was internally called the “M7″, while HTC’s new flagship, the M8 would be. That is not the final name, which will remain a secret.

HTC M8 would look remarkably similar to its predecessor: the unit has probably again a display of about 4.7 inches, although some sources speak of a 5 inch screen. The resolution would remain the same: Full HD, 1080×1920 pixels. The 1.7 GHz Snapdragon processor 600 of the original would have been replaced by a slightly more powerful 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor 800.

would hardly changed anything. Also at the design Like the HTC One probably has the M8 metal design. Something is uncertain whether the “HTC One-Two ‘same fingerprint scanner gets when One Max. Soon after Apple iPhone 5S with ‘Touch IDs released, HTC came up with the One Max, a phablet also equipped with a fingerprint scanner.

HTC One red, blue, zwart

Where Apple’s scanner was under the home button, the location of the One Max scanner was more uncomfortable: the back of the unit. Considered by many the addition therefore not seen as too useful experience. If the M8 also has some fingerprint scanner, we hope HTC this time better after having thought about their location.

We can at least be reasonably sure that HTC’s next flagship smartphone is a great back. The HTC One was one of the best smartphones of 2013, so the manufacturer would have to do a lot to ruin it for 2014.’s Best That was not the reason that sales of the One disappointing: the device sold probably especially bad by the delayed release and poor marketing. Our hope for 2014 is that the HTC One already knows in February or March to spend more than the Galaxy S5, and this time with a good marketing campaign. The more competition the better, ie.

budget or no budget?

early 2013, with the introduction of the HTC, the Taiwanese still showed that they would focus on high-end smartphones from now on. On budget mart phones too little profit would be achieved, so that would be hardly released by HTC in 2013. Later in the year that turned out not quite right. Cheap Android smartphones like the HTC Desire and Desire 300 500 received plenty of attention, while Max was the One, the large version of the One, just a little forgotten.

Our expectation is that the situation will change little. 2014 HTC’s next top models we can expect quite a few of them cheaper smartphones. And that is so beautiful, because when HTC are often the cheap mobile phones with a beautiful design and the same software as the flagship. So you still have a lot of the functionality of an attractive, high.

for a much lower price

Whether we HTC One-Two Mini and Max will see you again next year is something questionable. The Mini One perhaps was reasonably successful, the One Max was completely overshadowed by other phablets like the Galaxy Note 3. Probably we’ll see again in 2014 new phablets from HTC, but whether the successors to the ‘Max’: that is the question

HTC 8X

& HTC Windows Phone

In September 2012, Microsoft announced proudly that HTC Windows Phone is an important partner would be. Windows Phone 8 was not introduced on Nokia smartphones, but the HTC 8X and 8S. Again, however, sales fell significantly against HTC and Microsoft’s mobile OS has largely abandoned. About 80% of all Windows Phones that are coming from Nokia, less than 5% of HTC.

sold

Partly due to disappointing sales we have seen in 2013, no new Windows Phone from HTC. We consider it unlikely that HTC in 2014 returns to Windows Phone, especially now that Nokia’s mobile division is being acquired by Microsoft. There are rumors that Microsoft hefty sums reaches out to other manufacturers to bring new Windows Phone 8 devices, and if that’s true we see in 2014 may have an HTC appear. But do not count on it.

You walk little bit behind :) New rumors say:
Anderr aluminum body, but idd similarities
Edgeless screen
Octacpu or new 800-series instead of default
4000mAh battery
SD card slot (for all the whiners …)

2K screen instead of 1080p 10MP Ultra Pixel Camera
And some more tricks :)

Is! This article was written a little before Christmas, and just then there appeared many new rumors. Anyway, we still have a month or two before the unveiling, and I’ll bet that in the coming weeks, enough rumors appear that the list that you call completely beg to differ.

Yet it is broadly still reasonably accurate I think: the design and the CPU is what we expect about. That edgeless screen but I have yet to see the way, and I’m personally really wonder who needs a 2K resolution. Anyway, we’ll see. Thanks for your comment IIG ;)

would be desirable.

Particular camera upgrade 4MB Ultra was disappointing. Anything less importance, but again multiple colors spending both Red and Blue

Bart: I’m pretty sure that the HTC M8/HTC One Two simply will eventually appear in multiple colors. Almost every manufacturer brings ultimate multiple colors for a popular smartphone, and HTC does. I think we will sit at launch with only silver and black that are simply the most popular colors. But a few months later you may also be able to find other colors.
