DigiTimes: top models LG, Huawei, HTC, sell bad - Telecompaper

lower than expected sales of various smartphone top models from manufacturers such as LG, HTC and Huawei, may 2014 bring a shift in market shares. Writes that DigiTimes.

So HTC has its flagship HTC One although several awards on hold, but there is a flat sales since the launch of the One in March 2013. That would also have contributed to the heavy losses that HTC had to swallow in the third quarter of 2013.

LG expected in 2013, about 10 million of its flagship Optimus G2 to drop off, but the counter continues until now stabbing at about two million. The launch of the Optimus G2 happened according to various analysts close to the launch of the Nexus 5.

Huawei has so far shipped around three million units of its Ascend P6 (see photo), much less than the predicted 10 million for 2013. This would have limited brand status Huawei and insufficient marketing efforts have played a role.
