HTC Desire 500
The latest addition to the Desire family is, as you might expect, in terms of specifications under the above Desire Desire 600 and 200. The device, like the HTC One Mini, a 4.3-inch screen. However, the screen has a lower resolution of 480×800 pixels. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 200 chipset, has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. This storage can be be expanded through a microSD card. Furthermore, the device has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and the device has access to the interface of HTC, HTC Sense 5. On which Android version the unit is running, is not yet clear.
Desire 500 is clearly aimed at a target other than the HTC One mini. Where the latter focuses on the premium market, with the aluminum unibody and reasonable specifications, focuses HTC Desire with the 500 (and 600) are arrows at a lower segment. The Snapdragon chipset 200 (with quad-core 1.2 GHz processor) will not excel in performance and in screen resolution is a step backwards compared to the HTC One series, but that is certainly not surprising when we go to the retail look of the device.
