Huawei Unveils 8-inch MediaPad M1 HTC One appearance - Tablets Magazine

Besides MediaPad tablet X1 with high-end specifications introduces Huawei at MWC 2014 a new middle class model. The MediaPad M1 is an 8-inch tablet with a look that pretty much matches that of the HTC One.

Huawei MediaPad M1 is an 8-inch tablet with an IPS LCD display that is fitted with a 1,280 by 800 pixels resolution. The tablet is focused on content consumption, and therefore comes with speakers on the front and DTS support. There is also support for streaming files via DLNA.

Furthermore, the MediaPad M1 equipped with a quad-core processor 910 Hisilicon Kirin Huawei itself with a clock speed of 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage memory and a microSD card reader that the memory can be expanded. The tablet has a 4.800mAh battery that should provide 24 hours of use or viewing 8 films. Also on the move and when the tablet phone is suitable because there is support for 3G and 4G/LTE and support for phone calls and text messages.

At the front of the tablet is a 1 megapixel camera for video calls and a rear 5-megapixel camera for photos and videos. The most striking is the design which is very similar to the design of the HTC smartphone. The tablet has a weight of 329 grams and is only 7.9 millimeters thick. Huawei brings the tablet in a white and a titanium version on the market.

M1 MediaPad runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, an older version of Android, over which the Huawei Emotion UI itself. Huawei has a lot of things changed in Android, including the app tray and the notification menu.


Pricing and Availability

Huawei MediaPad M1 must be in March of this year, appearing on the market for a retail price of 299 euros. It is not clear if this is the price for the 3G-or 4G-version.
