HTC today announced a new midrange phone recently put online, the Desire 310. This device runs on a MediaTek processor. The unit is probably a little too soon put online, because the relevant product page no longer exists.

The unexpected unveiling took place at the European HTC website. Bloggers that fell immediately. The HTC Desire 310 receives the following specifications. The device runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The said MediaTek quad processor is the MT6582M which is clocked at 1.3 Ghz.

The device gets a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The unit offers all the usual connections, except 4G, and can hold two SIM cards are inserted. At the front there is a VGA camera, sitting behind a 5-megapixel camera without flash. The RAM is 512 mb in size and the unit comes with 4GB expandable memory.

This specification list indicates a phone at the bottom of the midrange segment. The device looks a lot like the Desire 300, which, however, possesses a processor of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4. The unit comes as seen in black and white on the market and the price will probably not be too high.
