HTC One GPE: Android 4.4 KitKat is again a bit closer - Android World

We already knew that HTC has sent the code. KitKat Android to Google for approval Now the Taiwanese manufacturer, like Samsung, the source code for the kernel, but framework files also available.

HTC has also released two separate versions in addition to the regular HTC One. One is a developer edition and the other is a HTC One with stock Android, also known as the HTC One GPE (Google Play Edition) called.

HTC has launched in 2011 the site HTCdev. This is a portal for developers who want to go with HTC devices to work. Here they could be given access to the Open Sense SDK, the tool for unlocking the bootloader on a device, and the source code of the kernels of the HTC devices.

Now here are also the source code and framework files available. The files are 99.8MB in size and can be downloaded here. 371.7MB respectively These downloads are for for (ROM) developers are interesting though.


Availability

The release of these files means that the code Google apparently is in order. An OTA update for the HTC One IPU is again a bit closer. This also applies to the people who have put this software. Their usual HTC One Here, too, it is not necessary to already obsessively on the update button, but you should of course know yourself

Incidentally, it seems that the ‘normal’ version of the HTC One end of January 2014 will receive Android 4.4.
