iPhone 5S benchmarks surpass Galaxy S4 and HTC One - Portable Gear

Several benchmarks of the new iPhone 5S are particularly impressive: the unit exceeds not only the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, but also competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One

September 28, 2013 – The iPhone 5S is the first iPhone model with the new 64-bit Apple A7 processor and a coprocessor called M7. Website iFixit , the 5S screwed apart, discovered that the A7 a 1.3 GHz dual-processor contains an ARM v8 chipset. According to Apple, the A7 processor as fast as the previous two Apple A6 processor, according to iFixit is mainly due to the replacement of the dated ARM v7 v8 by the ARM chipset chipset. The new iPhone 5C still has the ‘obsolete’ A6 processor.

In most benchmark tests show the iPhone 5S twice as fast as the iPhone 5C, which is not surprising, since Apple itself claims that the two processor is so fast. Noteworthy is that the 5C is slower than the original iPhone 5, while the devices have the same processor. In the so-called Geekbench test was the iPhone 5S twice as fast as the iPhone and 5C was the original iPhone 5 10 percent faster than the new 5C. The iPhone 5S was also six times faster than the iPhone 4S.

same Geekbench test the iPhone 5S achieved a Geekbench score 3 Multi-Core “which was 33 percent higher than the Samsung Galaxy S4 and 65 higher than the HTC One. In the ‘Geekbench 3 Single-Core’ test score the two 5S was as high as the two competing Android smartphones. This is remarkable, because the handsets from Samsung and HTC are equipped with a quad-core processor. The single-core score of the Galaxy S4 was also virtually identical to that of the iPhone 5C, but in the multi-core test was the Galaxy S4 to 58 percent faster than the iPhone 5C.

In another benchmark test, called Sunspider Javascript test (where low scores are best) excelled the iPhone 5S too. The unit complement most of the test in 454 milliseconds, the iPhone 5 did 708 milliseconds (and was thus one percent faster than the iPhone 5C). The iPhone 5S in this assay was 3.5 times faster than the iPhone 4S. Finally, were the SunSpider test both the 5S and 5C faster than the Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
